We believe that sharing and listening is the first step towards healing.
SASS, Sexual Assault Survivor Support, is a program for young women who have had any unwanted sexual experience.
The purpose of SASS is to provide a safe space for conversation, reflection and support through a group connection of young women sharing a similar experience. SASS is not a professional therapy group but provides survivors with the support they need to feel less isolated and afraid while helping them to become stronger.
SASS is facilitated by Elizabeth Walters, CNM, MS. She has been providing clinical care and sexuality education at HiTOPS since 1988 and has led the SASS group since 2001. Her role is to lead activities and discussion and provide resources and referral to other professionals.
The HiTOPS Health Center provides services for males and females who have experienced sexual assault. Our clinicians are available to provide compassionate counseling, emergency contraception and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
